I'm a fan of the Witt Machine SMEs - I use the 30-cal for my 12" 6.5. I had a VG6 on there and I made it about 4 shots before I capitulated. Too much concussion and it made my eyeballs hurt 
. The SMEs direct blast forward and cut noise/blast to the shooter well - not quite like a suppressor by close enough w/o paperwork. I have the VG6 on my 22" Creedmoor now, and still think about putting the A2 on it. After 50 shots I feel it in my eyes. 22" barrel helps as it's further away, but still a blaster. I would take slightly more recoil over the concussion/blast wave from the brakes.
