I tried a mates IR on his ruger 223 on the weekend. After sundown at last light - awesome. The under spotlight at full dark. Even more awesome. Buggered if a took notice of the brand - but knowing him it would have been low to midrange.
Im sold - will put the Leupold 2.5-8x36 in the Tikka M55 (LSA) and will get a IR for the Howa mini Grendel.
Nice lightweight and relatively inexpensive that are leading: Vanguard Endeavours 2-8x32; GPO 3-9x40; GPO 1.9-9x32 or x42.
The 1.9-9x32 GPO does not seem to be available in Australia- but that would be the ultimate pick. The 3-9 GPO is the lowest price, is 1inch tube and still nice and light. Think it will be the pick.
I have the Aussie trigger spring replacement ordered and just waiting on the import approval for new bottom metal.
Cant wait to pick the rifle up.
