If you legitimately dont have any leaks, I would open the gas port to .1094 (7/64 bit) after checking that you have an efficient bolt carrier.
Test the bolt and carrier if the carrier with collapse on its own weight vertically, after telescoping the bolt forward.
If it fails that, test it without the cam pin the same way.
Especially with 95gr and shorter, youll tend to see short-stroke malfunctions with 18 RLGS because there isnt enough dwell time. This is particularly true in cold weather as well.
Insert a dowel in the barrel to prevent you from blowing all the way into your rifling, or set a mechanical limit with your tooling when you drill out the port.
Run your bit so that you dont tear a large burr out of the downside of the port. Carbide bits work well at certain speeds for this if youre more meticulous, but it can be done with a hand drill too.
