North America's largest rodent, a 41 pound beaver. I can't seem to get the image small enough to post, so you will have to use your imagination. I usually use 350 legend because the big, flat bullet has lots of whomp at the short ranges we shoot them. Decided to use a 16 inch grendel with 120 grain barnes match burners over 27 grains of TAC. The first shot was long for this at over 40 yards and the critter was moving. The bullet grazed the skull but didn't hit squarely enough to penetrate. This stunned the beaver at the second shot hit the neck. The bullet must have clipped the base of the skull because the exit was enthusiastic and filled with soft and hard bits and pieces. Dead upon impact.
Short range like this definitely doesn't take advantage of what the cartridge offers, but a target load finished off a tough animal that my buddy frequently shoots with 223 2 or 3 times before they are done.
