Grendel loading for elk at moderate ranges

Here is a chart comparing the kill zone of Elk for different cartridges and calibers. The Grendel really shines for less than 300 yards. At 1800ft/sec the Grendel may have the velocity to expand but lack the 1300 ft/lbs of energy to penetrate. The Grendel has both, out to about 300 yards, depending on the bullet and load.
