This seems like grandstanding for voters more than anything, since they know they dont have the votes in the Senate and definitely wont have the support from the WH.
Ive been hungering for an end to the NFA since I was a kid, but it has to be done strategically, given the nature of the legislative process.
I think if dozens of State AGs get together and tell the ATF theyre not welcome in our States, and that we will enforce USC 18, Sections 241 and 242, the 2A, 4A, 9A, 10A, Heller, Bruen, WV vs EPA in prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law, then put out awards for any State and local LEOs and citizens who successfully arrest and bring forth said violators of the Constitution before a magistrate to be prosecuted.
Enemies to the Constitution and the States who directly seek to violate the birthrights of the people deserve no quarter.
That will force it before SCOTUS, since the list of egregious violations of the Bill of Rights is so lengthy and obvious when it comes to the mandate and conduct of the ATF.
The fact ATF are tasked with violating the Bill of Rights, and that the 73rd Congress thought they could evade the restrictions placed on them by the Constitution by weaponizing their power to tax, would be hard to justify even for the activist justices because of precedence/ stare decisis.
Imagine a Federal bureaucracy tasked with violating the First Amendment, 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, etc. by the justification that Congress has the power to tax to work around those restrictions.
