FWIW, I like the factory stock just fine for hunting after replacing the bottom metal. The forend is stiff enough for how I use it. If I put a big bipod on there and really crank into it I can make it flex but thats not how use them. Shooting offhand, over a tree limb, prone over a backpack, works for me. Id like it to be a pound lighter but for the money I cant complain.
Now for the bad news. I also have a Boyds solid walnut with a Monte Carlo cheek piece and it weighs about the same, maybe a couple of oz heavier than the LSI.
Brownells had a Black LSI on sale most of last year for $39.99. I see theyre back up to $98.99 now, maybe theyll go on sale again?
