Brass dents revisited

For years the bolt cleaning on my 3 Gun AR was done with Hoppe's #9, a bronze brush on the tail end & home-made scrapers made of brass for the carrier interiors. Cleaned the bolt & carrier just enough to remove the bigger chunks of carbon. Blew out any residue with a can of carburetor cleaner & then oiled the BCG with Rem-Oil or CLP ... whichever I had at hand. I used that AR for almost 20 years & never had an issue with the BCG. It ran perfectly all the time (still does). It never needed to be absolutely carbon free after cleaning.
