Should be accurate and a fun rifle. Ive owned an American Ranch 6.5 Grendel with 16.1 barrel (same action and stock, I think) for almost 2 yrs and its been an awesome project. I trimmed the magazine spring so it feeds great, also used polishing compound on the action and cycled 2-300 times (watchin TV) now no zip zip noise while cycling
. Smooth. Lastly I trimmed the trigger spring too and its how I like it.
Im surprised at the 16.1 barrel accuracy usually 5 shot groups are under 1 at 100 metres. Hornady factory black shot the best about 1.5-2 5 @ 100m as I recall. Hand loads I use 100 grain Nosler Partitions and 100 grain ELD-Ms, lighter booolits as its such a short barrel. Powder IMR 8208 XBR, CFE 223, Alliant 10x, and Leverevolution all shoot great in it.
Mine is specifically used as my SxS and truck gun, its seen nothing but abuse, dust, mud etc., Im not concerned if it gets banged up, it has taken the abuse exceptionally well. Ive other firearms that are nicer for sure, but this little gun keeps on tickin and is my go too for general purpose messin about.
