How do you guys level scopes?

Anyone use the Arisaka Optic Levelor? A friend just texted me said this is the best thing since the invention of the AR-15. Thoughts?

SPUHR has the same system in their scopes and I have used them

They have built-in grooves for their one-piece mounts and the system in the photo for separate mounts.

It is OK, not perfect, because it assumes your scope's erector mechanism is square with the flat base of the scope. I recommend validating whatever you end up with by doing a Tall Target test at 100. Mount your scope with the Arisaka and Zero the gun at 100. Then dial up something equivalent to 1K yards, say 10 Mils. Shoot again at the same point of aim and check whether the two groups are exactly vertical. This will also check the scope's elevation is what the dial says it is (for scope correction factor). Correct if there is a cant, and then attach your scope's bubble level last.

You can also mimic the Arisaka/SPUHR method with a set of thick hex wrenches. Find the hex wrench that almost jams in the gap between the scope base and rail. Then turn it so it makes contact in the gap with the scope base. With a bit of wiggling the scope it squares itself with the wrench.
