Run the ballistics on that load.
Look at the 300-400yd velocities.
If they are in excess of Mach 1.2/1300fps, it will plow through tissue with a high chance of exit on a broadside shot through heart/lungs.
That bullet will be going way faster than that at 300-400yds.
With deer though, you should be able to stalk into closer ranges in most terrain.
If you get a lot of trigger time out to 600yds, it will increase your confidence in making vital zone hits at 300-400yds.
I recently spent 3 days running a private LR clinic for a guy who landed a limited bull elk tag.
We spent the 1st day shooting on a 1000yd flat range, 2nd day doing field positions out to 800yds with tripod, bipod, bags, and pump pillows on 12 steel plates.
He came back for a follow-up field shooting session out to 800yds, fine-tuning his equipment and LR shooting right before leaving for the guided hunt.
Bagged a beautiful bull elk at 850yds the next weekend.
He was shooting 300 PRC though. 212gr ELD-X, suppressed.
