New CVA Grendel on board

Hope to, BFT. I pulled off the rail, cleaned out the screw holes with alcohol (the rubbing kind ... I am not stupid) then blue-Loctited them and torqued to 18 pounds. There are some mentions on Youtube and other places that the rails on these guns are often loose and the tapped screw holes oily. I wish to heck that Optics Planet used a shipper other than DHL. My scope has been sitting in the DHL warehouse in DFW since Thursday afternoon -- just 3 hours from here.

That would be the 2nd thing I would do after confirming the chamber has the type of throat I would want in a single shot.

A really long throat would be great for hand loads if you planned on shooting longer, heavier bullets.

A standard throat would be more ideal for shooting factory ammunition.

Since these aren’t steel case, semi-auto blasters, a tighter neck would make sense too.

For scope bases on actions like this, I would degrease as you did, also considering acetone, then Loc-tite with Red and a torque wrench following the manufacturer’s specs on the fasteners.

I would consider using Red Loc-tite also to form a gasket type seal on the bottom of the base, with a rough-textured surface on the action/barrel for more secure adhesive purchase.

Given the lower recoil of 6.5 Grendel, I think you’ll be fine with what you did though.
