NX8 2.5-20x50 vs NXS 2.5-10x42, 8.1 oz. Is it worth its weight?

I like 2.5-10 SFP scopes a lot and on an 18” 6.5 Grendel I’d go for the lighter scope. Sounds like the 2.5-10x42 would be a great hunting scope and I used my 3-9x40 to shoot steel out to 800 yards. With the quality of NightForce glass I think 10x is enough to shoot out to 600 yards depending on the size of the target. The 2.5 power is low enough power for me to snap shoot both eyes open at close range.


There might not be a wrong answer but you just need to assess what is more important. If you use a range finder or know the distances your shooting I don’t see any disadvantage to a SFP scope.
