For AR platform you want a 1-piece cantilever mount. Not being concerned with quick detach, long-range,
or high recoil any of the options will work fine, just make sure the diameter is right for the
scope you want to get.

Don't waste your money
This is the first time leaving a review. This product is junk. Tried to mount to specified torque using my Wheeler Digital Fat Wrench and got halfway and the screws stripped out on 2 different holes. Specified 15-18 and they stripped at 9 in-lbs. Seemed really cheaply made. Not what I expected with the Wheeler name. As always, Midway was super fast for shipping and return was very simple. Love Midway!!! Just not this product unfortunately.

This is what you commonly will see with sub-$100 chinesium excrement pumped out onto the market by shameless companies who know that they can make far more sales volume and margins than if they do what it takes to design and manufacture a quality mount from 7075 T6 aircraft aluminum, with durable fasteners.

For lightweight mounts, I like LaRue LT-104.

One filter I would ensure is that the mount is made in the USA or Europe. Not Made in USA or Europe, don’t let it near your rifles.

Chinesium materials and manufacturing are not worth the risk.

I’ve seen many incidents where people cheaped-out on mounts and optics, only to have them fail within the first magazine or 2 during courses.

It’s just not worth betting your hunts on a weak link in a critical component that you absolutely need to stay true in order for ethical/successful shots through the vitals of the game.

The Primary Arms claims made in USA, but they’re using 6061 aluminum, which is softer. They also offer 7075 mounts.

6061 machines like soap, so tool time is much less than 7075, and therefore they can crank them out like cookies.

I’m a fan of 7075 and quality fasteners, a minimum of 4 fasteners per ring, and I install with the Wheeler FAT Wrench following manufacturer torque specs.

Even some of the top-line $450+ mounts have issues sometimes, so QC is always a thing.

So here’s a checklist I recommend for mounts:

Made in USA (for lightweight mounts)
7075 T6 aluminum
4 fasteners per ring (If you see any mount or ring set with only 2 fasteners, run away.)
Optic height ideal for your cheek weld (Measure with calipers to see where your optimum eye/optic height is with a comfortable cheek to stock weld.)

The better companies have options for you to choose from when looking at different optic heights from the bore.
