The model of pistol and caliber are not important to me. The important points are Eli was armed with a reliable handgun, (1st rule, be armed). Eli used sound judgement and tactics. Eli couldve ran and only engaged the shooter once he was going to be targeted. Eli mustve realized the situation and chose to act which surely saved others.
I put more faith in tactics and shot placement than a particular service caliber (9, 38/357, 40, 10, 45). My concern with an active shooter might be the increased distance needed to engage an active shooter. For most armed civilians a 2 38 or pocket 380 (LCP) are less likely to be up to the task than a P365, Hellcat, 48/43x/43 S&W Shield or Glock 26/27.
My opinion if more of these active shooters are quickly taken out I suspect the crazies might change tactics and revert to more vehicle attacks like weve seen or other form of mayhem.
