With the drop-in triggers, you get a much more refined system that isn't limited by the geometry of the original pin locations as pivot points. Geissele and LaRue have mastered the milspec based triggers, but there's only so much they can do to improve the feel with the limitations of the milspec design & sear interface.
TriggerTech has a breakdown of their tech - and while a lot of it sounds like marketing buzzwords, it's a pretty interesting design that gives their triggers a very unique feel. I'm sure AR Gold, Jard, Rise, and the other major drop-in manufacturers have their own take on trigger tech that makes them more consistent than traditional triggers.
Trigger selection is a very subjective thing, so you might need to try a few options before you find your preference, and you might prefer a different style for each role. But it's hard to go wrong with anything mentioned in this thread.
