H1, my local shop Accutac also recommended the Dead Air Sandman-S, cuz I told them I want a do-all can for home defense, hunting, and blasting. (I've been known to do a mag dump or two with Wolf steel-case.) Sandman is supposed to be super tough, full-auto rated and all but it's a heavy, heavy beast. It's also one of the few cans with a factory option in FDE.
The more sensible can for my REALISTIC needs would have been a Thunderbeast Ultra or a Dead Air Nomad, both in titanium.
But I'm with DHD: 1) Direct thread is probably best if you plan to switch the can between various guns, and 2) What's "sensible" got to do with it?
P.S. I want to put in a plug for Silencer Shop and their dealer Accutac. They've made the buying process amazingly smooth and Accutac set me up with a trust for free.
