Scored a 32 which gave me a 3rd. I say that's not bad for a rifle I only shot 2x before, with less than 100 rounds, using factory sig 5.56 77gr ammo.
Next week, it will be grendel time and I'm going to do my absolute damndest to try for perfect 40 +4. Let's see if the 123 eld @ 2700fps can get the job done. This is the "ar15 run what you brung" local match again, and I'm not going to be shamed by no dang rams. They all going down.
Changes made this match:
Jug of ice water to drink.
Setting bezel on watch for 10 min time limit
Stopping and resetting to slow down and only take good shots
Better dope card
Ran 8x magnification on all stages except for the 1/4 sized targets. Did this as I have a FFP scope, and it brought down the crosshairs to very fine lines while making mirage nearly imperceptible. It also helped me see my impacts or misses much easier than 20x.
Took out anemometer and grabbed wind data + pressure data between stages. Wind had shifted nearly 270 degrees over course of fire. Explains the bullet rise I was seeing and had to adjust for.
Came with a strategy and stuck to it. This is THE most important part.
