About the ejector mark on FD78's brass. That is a pretty deep mark on the brass. I don't think I would let it go.
Cut off one coil from the spring and see? What do you think?

The 5.56 barrels I experienced popped primers had short chambers and not true 5.56 throats..I have never seen any Colt barrels that had chambers out of spec..
