I don't accept that a magazine is a firearm and therefore I believe it is completely valid to limit capacities. All the rhetoric to the contrary won't stop it from being a law that is enforced, however, because no claim of magazine limits being unconstitutional has been decided by the SCOTUS, yet. Maybe SCOTUS will take Duncan v Bonta, and things might change. I'll happily live in that reality.

2A talks about arms, not firearms. Arms include the necessary ancillary items to make said arms effective or to perform as designed.

A modern firearm without a magazine is a club. It isn’t rhetoric to recognize that modern firearms were specifically meant to feed from larger capacity magazines to give the bearer of said arms a quantitative edge in life-or-death scenarios.

I know people who are alive because the criminal ran to slide lock before the survivor/victor did, in once case both carrying Glocks.

1 had a Glock 21 .45 ACP with 13+1 capacity, the other had a Glock 22 .40 S&W with 15+1 capacity. Both were within trapping range (arms reach) and both ran to slide lock.

The survivor/victor took a .45 ACP to the jawline, which he misperceived as hard punch to the face, because he did not know the perpetrator was armed with a handgun.

This caused him to fall back in a decline ditch on his back, at which time the perpetrator shot him in the chest as finishing shots (was wearing armor).

Perpetrator went to run off after that, when the survivor retuned fire on him.

Perpetrator reoriented for the attack and shot at the survivor, running to slide lock quickly.

Survivor ran to slide lock after achieving more effective hits on the perpetrator.

The thing with handguns is that they often are not effective fight-stoppers, and someone you shoot hasn’t accepted that they are going to die as they continue to exert lethal force against you.

The courts, Congress, and any other power-seekers have no justifiable cause to place other human beings in a lower status than those who don’t know or care what any of our laws are.

Place those types of propositions side-by-side with the Bill of Rights, and the Bill of Rights is pretty explicit in favoring the individual citizen over such misguided or malicious attempts.
