Stupid question. What is "soft setting" a target?

Grendel still. Considering more barrel, the 22 fun was just that. Being dumb and having fun. To put my 22 setup into perspective, 350 rds + optic + mount + bipod + case + range fee + cost of rifle isn't even $250. Good cheap fun is all, wanted to see if I could even get to the target was the goal.

Waiting on reply from Krieger regarding a 28" and will keep trying to contact PF regarding a 26." I am expecting Krieger lead time to quote 12-18 months. Based on the "class" of this local competition and rules (3000fps speed limit etc) I feel like grendel is still going to give the best chance. I'm staring down the rabbit hole on this one and am getting ready to jump in.

If you go anything over 22”, I recommend using an Extended Length Gas System with 2 more inches of port location away from the chamber. It will really help you with pushing loads without causing early unlocking.

28” will allow you to bite the heels of 24” 6.5 Creedmoor. You can also do a gain-twist with Bartlein. I think PF has one for sale here right now with a gain twist.
