I put at least 8 rounds through a bughole at 100yds with PF 123gr SMK in Lapua brass. It shot better than every bolt gun Ive ever fired except for a 6mm PPC heavy bench rest rifle where there was no way of counting holes in 10rd groups.
I used to do accuracy-testing for a company making precision bolt guns, so I would pick up a truckload of rifles and take them to the range for all-day sessions, shot from a rifle rest with cases of ammo to feed them. Lots of those rifles had Krieger barrels, and they would shoot out of the gate. I was required to provide 1/2 3rd groups or the rifles didnt ship. Anyway, the point is that in addition to all the other bolt guns and gas guns Ive been shooting since 1982 on a regular basis, I know an accurate rifle when I get behind one.
In the case of the returned upper, it was simply a matter of the customer not being familiar with the techniques required to shoot a gas gun to its potential, which is quite a bit different than shooting a bolt gun.
I sent photos of the groups that the upper would produce consistently, and the customer couldnt get it back fast enough.
Man I wanted that upper. I think it was a 20 Bartlein in one of PFs billet receivers. Natural laser with frightening accuracy.
You are making me want t0 put my 24" PF barrelled upper back on the rifle and head out to the range. Of course on a good day I typically shoot 1 to 1.25 MOA so not quite the same as you.
