I think the consumer is generally given a pass. If / when it is settled enough in court against the company the ATF will mail all their customers a letter saying mail us the trigger. At that point, the customers decisions could cause themselves trouble. I'm not lawyer, I may be wrong. There is a guy on arfcom who may know. Can't remember his screen name. Got it "LawyerUp".
