Buying an action for $500+ and a bolt from PTG is another $236 your at $750+ add in the cost of a pic rail and your less than hundred dollars than what the Origin cost and to me is a better action. Unless you got the Remington action for dirt cheap I would not go that route to save a $100 buying new right now. Yes I like to save money but there are times it's not worth it. I have a Remington 783 that I got really cheap but finding stocks is not easy and while I can find some barrels for now, the 783 is discontinued can I find drop in barrels in 10 years? I have looked for extractors and that is not easy, while i got the action cheap and I really like it It is really limited and not worth to me investing a lot of money on a discontinued action that does not fit Remington 700 stocks and parts.
