So...the suppressor takes about 30% off of recoil. As for MB's,shooting 1K Matches starting in 1990 I was between two 300 Weatherby IMP. mags both with MB's.even with muffs the concussion on the the side of my skull cracked my left eardrum.Now these guys thought it was funny,because I was getting pummeled.I was shooting A 6-284,no brake.. and beat em! Had to time my shots between there shots.Well we all have good days shooting. I did have one MB built.all the holes were drilled out at a 30-35 degree angle forward.Called it "The Gentleman Brake" It was unbelievable for the guys sitting to each side of me at the Match.Got A lot of comments on it! I only used it a couple times then sold the 6-284 with the brake. Even though I have commented this style brake to these tool makers ,they ignore it,yes they are A tad more time to build.But if I had to have a brake this would be the only one to have. A 6.5 Grendel with "CAN" you can watch your hits,for A 12 year old,they would have no problem.Just start them with a 22 first to learn good shooting habits and concentration on the target. I am always amazed some parents bringing the 12 year old to the range while I am Range Master and wanting them to start with a 308...download it first...yes,but full hot loads your inviting bad shooting flinch.
