At this point I was ready to ask them for a 4-16 replacement, but before I could, CS Rhonda (she rocks!) told me they were shipping a Strike Eagle 5-25x56 plus a 34mm mount at 0 cost to solve the problem. And it did! Torqued to 20 inlb back in the LT204 - works as it should. So, hats off to Vortex CS, they gave me a serious bump up for $0, but it's fairly troubling that 3 copies of the DBT had the same issue...
I've got a Strike Eagle 5-25. It sucks you had the problem with the binding up on the less expensive Vortex scopes, but why did you torque up to 20 in-lbs with the Strike Eagle? The manual suggests 15-18 in-lbs if you are not using thread locker, < 11 in-lbs. with thread locker.
Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but did the parallax adjustment work on those scopes when they were unmounted?
