Measure the distance the bore scope travels down the barrel to that hole. Take it out and lay it alongside the barrel and check if it lines-up with the gas block.
Another way is to run it up and down looking for the port - It will be there.
With unlapped barrels sometimes the gas ports have burrs from the machining process. The first shot will sort that out.
I did something similar last night. I marked the spot on the borescope cable where I saw the spot in question and put a mirror attachment on the scope and I can clearly see that this is the same general area of the gas port. Looking at the picture with the thought that it might be the gas port, I can see how that could be exactly what it is. And this makes the most sense since I have shot a lot of bullets down this barrel.
I really appreciate your help. You're the one that helped me to identify this and I am very thankful to you and glad that this isn't a flaw in my barrel. I really like my 6.5 Grendel and have a lot of handloads waiting to shoot that are fireformed to this barrel.
