Accurizing a Grendel - Accuracy Advice

Start with your scope mount and make sure you are at the right torque on both the mount-to-gun bolts and the ring screws. And do you have another god scope to try? Or another proven rifle you could test the scope on? Sometimes a scope goes wonky.

The truing of the upper and the tight bedding of the barrel are both things I do, and I believe they help. I exclusively use BCM uppers (about a hundred bucks for their blem ones) since I thermal fit the barrel so I don’t need to use shims and loctite. I think the ZEV uppers are also good ones for thermal fitting.

Your BA DMW should be capable of sub moa with good match ammo. It sounds like you’re on top of the reloading game, but still, maybe try some factory match grade stuff.

How good are you as a shooter? In the past I wasn’t a sub moa shooter. I worked on me (check out snipershide for some great marksmanship tutorials) and saw a good difference.

Thanks for the advice. I can recheck the scope mounts. I torqued them to spec and used loctite. I used an aero mount.

For good factory loads, what do folks recommend? Of those, I’m assuming current availability is an issue?

As for me, I was shooting 1/3-1/2 MOA the same day with my AR-10 as well as a pair of Tikkas. I shot for a 3 position small bore club team in college, so I’m pretty confident that isn’t it either.

I’ve heard good things about the BCM uppers, might have to try that on my next build. I’m liking the BCM rail on this build.
