I was thinking of marking mine with a paint pen, per my usual way of marking things. Just putting little white or yellow dots where they need to be. Won't wear away easily, but can be removed quickly with a little lacquer thinner if the adjustment need to be... adjusted. Never though of using a sharpie. Wouldn't that be really hard to see? Goes onto a black surface pretty transparent, doesn't it? But I guess as long as you can make out the marks you made, it doesn't matter. Not like they need to be seen from a distance.
I happened to be researching this subject this morning. Found this video. Doesn't mention the parallax situation, so I guess this is how you'd do it on a scope w/o a parallax adjustment. Interesting that they cover how to do it with a long range scope and with a LPVS. And that the process is very different for each.
