There have been issues with out of spec buffer retainer holes in the lower receiver. This can have an affect on the length of travel of the bolt carrier. The buffer spring might be overly compressed when at rest or give insufficient bolt travel.
There have been reports of out of spec Brownells buffer tubes. Sometimes you need to either trim the length or add quarters to the bottom of the buffer tube. Both things are worth investigating.

With a + 2 gas system I wonder if the gas port is large enough. I think Id contact Rainier about the appropriate size gas port. Ballistic Advantage has sold several 6.5 Grendel barrels with undersized gas ports.
It wouldnt be the first time a gas gun had insufficient gas because of an undersize gas port.
