Sorry - I went Big with my statement. 0.36" is an exceptional group and not going to be typical for factory ammo. As Klem pointed out, you should not expect the same results when using factory ammo. I have been shooting Daniel Defense rifles for +10 years for plinking, hunting, and 3-Gun. By dumb luck it was my first AR15 and since has become the only off-the-rack AR15 that I buy. I have been impressed with their barrels, and as a result it is my first choice of barrels for a standard quality build. My experience is that their barrels are reliable/consistent, accurate and well made. My generic bulk reload using 55gr Hornady FMJ (bulk box) with TAC or H335, and range brass is 1/2" - 3/4" in all of my DD's. I used their barrel in my 300BO build and it delivers. For what it is worth, I am not a fan of pencil barrels on AR15's. They aren't rigid enough for hanging a suppressor (too much POI shift) and heat up too fast.
I had a guest pick up a cartridge off the ground and load it into the magazine (he should have known better and I didn't see it happen). Next thing I know he detonated one of my DD rifles by firing a 300BO through a 5.56. Fortunately, no one was injured. The gun broke where it was designed to fail. The gun was toast... the barrel was pristine... no noticeable bulge or swell. Felt weird throwing it out, but safety first. I was sold... and Larry Vickers torture tests episodes confirmed/solidified my impression of a Daniel Defense rifle. Best Ugliest Hammer right off the shelf.
