I took a new, AA-marked mag to a shoot last year and ran it for the first time. Pulled the mag out of the plastic wrap, loaded 25 rounds, and started shooting. I got failures to feed every other round. After three failures, I pulled the mag and first looked at the gun. Didn't see anything obvious, so I examined the mag feed lips. One was obviously bent. Got a pair of pliers from the range kit and adjusted the feed lip as best I could. The mag ran fine for the rest of the shoot. I figure what happened was that the mag got dropped at some point during its lifetime and the feed lip was bent. I believe I was the third owner of the mag, so it's not surprising that something like that could happen.
