I cut the LOP on the factory plastic to a completed 12.5" with recoil pad. In a heavy coat it fits her well. It's short for me, but I make it work.
I recommend you reconsider the fixed 6x scope. Finding game in the scope is going to be difficult for inexperienced shooters/hunters.
A Leupold VX2 2-7x33 is about perfect for what you are trying to achieve.
Just my opinion, and worth what you are paying for it.
thx! I didn't consider the issue of finding game and was focused on simplicity but you do raise a good point.
