Welcome from a Floridian. Still new here too, but one of the things multiple people told me on here about building a 6.5G is the core components NOT to scrimp on: Barrel (Lilja or other premium brand), BCG and Trigger. We got a great deal going on 16" Lilja barrels for forum members, used the code and got the 16" Lilja barrel and Maxim BCG for a hair under $600. Other places to look is Precision Firearms.
When it comes to ammo, great place to check out is Druid Hill Armory. A couple members recommended them and super happy with their service and CS.
