Ruger Ranch or Preditor cut down to 16"? Preditor is less money and easier to find.

Can someone please measure the barrel diameter back 6 inches and perhaps 7.5 inches from the end on the Preditor?
I would really appreciate it.

The “Predator” has a parallel tapered barrel. It’s basically .740” from the fore end to the muzzle. I cut mine down to 18.5” for a more balanced feel.

FWIW: Mine fed like “$chitt” until I cut two coils off the mag spring. Rounds with longer bullets, 120+ and up worked ok but shorter bullets would porpoise into and jam on the back of the chamber. Reducing the spring tension made an unbelievable difference, runs great now, with any ammo. I would have never believed it!
