Folks- the basis for my info at this time is what can it do for factory loads. Pertinent for the people that dont reload.
I hand load and share the same preconceived bias that this wont be productive in that application. I do plan to try it anyway to prove or disprove, that is separate. Lets push all that off the table.
Heres the behind the scenes info- I had to force time in the middle of a project to finally just get out and send some lead in short time window.
I only had 40 rds of factory ammo hence why 3 shots here, 4 there, not going further on the dial, not trying odd numbers along the way.... again, this is a fly over that shows me its worth putting under the microscope with further / better testing. It shows to others that are interested that yes, it does effectively brake and tune.
BR most dont run brakes. 3 gun more common. What is our application and do the pros outweigh the cons in that environment?
Sure, I might not be standard by measuring groups via OD. In the end my measured change produces standard and accurate change vs the next person via delta OD. I gave that info because if I get pic posted peeps will see my 1 (via OD) is the next persons 3/4 (via center to center).... and both of these grouping call outs are diff than the old Soviet method.
I suppose I can say it like this; I purposely add in an error margin in the beginning rather than calc with hardline values and add for possible error margin at the end when considering to squeeze or not. As long as we know what language the other is speaking we can translate it.
Klem pounced me on this, but I have my own purpose why I look at a group within a group. When faced with a narrow window -tighter than gross MOA / MILS including all fliers- and only have the region of the smaller bulk group within the overall to work with, I want have an idea what my hit probability in that smaller range is.
If its a lone yote, I have 75% hit probability, wont get another opportunity today, I squeeze on it.
If theres other yotes in area, 50% probability, there is opportunity to get closer or they come more into the open.... I pass for the better opportunity.... or 90% probability I might take it.
