Wow! Can totally relate as a supervisor working for a private contractor running a Motor pool on a military installation having to be at the mercy of the Federal Supply System. Case in point:
Customer: When can I expect my piece of equipment to be ready?
Me: Parts are on order.
Customer: When will the parts be here.
Me: When they arrive.
Customer: Where are they at now?
Me: Parts Tracker says the 2 tires (commonly available you can buy downtown) left California and are on their way to Japan for a consolidated shipment back to the US and the trucked across country to our facility....ETA, 6/14/12.
Customer: WTF!?!?!
Me: You're preaching to the choir dude....
