B'Laster is a known carbon cutter. Plus, I would be squirting whatever penetrating fluid I was using, down the gas tube as well, the idea being to get it to both ends of the adjustment screw. More than one application of heat and penetrating oil may be necessary.
There is a product called "Quicksilver Power Tune" that is used to de-carbonize 2 stroke outboard engines, that comes in a spray can, might be an option also.
I used a bit of anti-seize when I installed mine, so I haven't had to address this issue yet, but the above should work.
Just some ideas here, since I haven't had to do any of this to the only rifle that I have an adjustable block on.
Oh yeah, another thing, if I was going to use the carb cleaner soak I would take the gas block off the barrel. Hanging the upper up somehow with the end of the barrel in a bucket of very caustic chemicals sounds like a perfect opportunity for the accident fairy to land. Not to mention cleanup is much easier.
I'd agree. I assumed he would be removing the GB from rifle and soaking.
