Mk12 Mod 1 in AA 6.5 Grendel

A couple of updates for March 2012. I finally have the left and right sides of the handguard where I want them to be with two quick release sling swivel mounts on the right side, a DD 1'o-clock offest rail on the left, and a Vortex Optics spare battery carrier on the left. Initially I had used KAC's quick release swivel mounts but went to DD mounts since the rotation is limited and keeps the sling from getting twisted. Why two mounts? When I have the bipod attached the mount closest to the reciever allowes for a forward grip in front of the swivel mount and without the bipod attached the sling gets moved up to the second slot. It just makes for better tension than when at the slot at the reciever and allows the sling to be left at one adjustment. Maybe unessessary but, I like it like this. Finally I had cut various lenghts of KAC panels to clean up the rails to fit between these accessories. The A1 type E stock is back which I think makes the rifle a bit handier with the shorter length. It seems to balance well with this stock too. A colapseable makes it a bit heavy in the front. I recently used this rifle in competition at the end of March 2012 as you see it here without the bipod and running 15 round mags and it performed well until my extractor broke.
