I have both kinds of bore guides. Not only do bore guides protect the throat of the barrel, and the finishes on the stock, they can help prop open an AR15 type rifle for cleaning.
I think more barrels are ruined by improper cleaning damaging the throat and/or the crown, than are worn out by shooting them out. |
