I've donated to the NRA most of my life, along with JPFO, GOA, RMGO, SAF, SAS and a few others. There are some lobbyists among those groups I have come to realize are charlatans.
My eyes were opened to some of these people during a conversation with Lt. Col. RKB back in the 90's. I don't pretend to speak for Col. Brown. As for myself, during that period I came to a conclusion. It pains me to say it, but if it becomes necessary to hide my firearms from an over zealous government or their agents, it's probably time to use them. I have found little rationale for changing my conclusion over the past 20+ years. YMMV.
