One extreme to the other? You will eventually have to clean the barrel. Even sooner clean the bolt carrier and bolt.
All of us clean our rifles. Just not as often as folks have been lead to believe is necessary.
Tell you a place where I cleaned them after shooting. South Georgia. Also Arizona believe it or not because the place I lived had a Swamp Cooler for air conditioning. Heat and humidity are not friends to steel.
