Scope horrors

I've taken your logic to heart. In fact I've shared it already. My neighbor has a Ford Explorer and he told me it's developed a shimmy in the steering wheel. He asked me what I thought. I told him that if he hadn't cheaped out on the Ford and gotten a Mercedes SUV instead, he wouldn't have had any troubles. It didn't solve his SUV's problem though.

Terrible analogy.


The scope you bought is cheap. That’s not an insult.....rather a statement of fact.

Plenty of decent scopes you can get for around $300 that will do fine. Personally, on a hunting or SD rifle I’d likely spent 2-3 times that amount at a minimum.

After shooting NightForce and other high end scopes you’ll appreciate what a $1,500-$3,000 scope can do on a very nice rifle.


Simple formula for a true “precision gun”.....

Glass = 35-50% of rifle cost
Barrel = 25-30% of rifle cost
Trigger = 10-15% of rifle cost

The rest is all in “other parts” and smith costs (if you do your own smithing that’s where the higher percentage comes into play).
