I ended up applying some flitz polish and cycling a lot, wiped down, replace flitz and cyclied some more, then ceaned very thoroughly and lubed and the are now silky smooth using the handle. There are also some extremely square corners on rear surfaces of the bolt, I lightly stoned those with a fine ceramic stone just to break the edges and that also helped a lot. Look for any roughness, machine marks or sharp edges on the bolt and address them
