Im late to this party but one of my 243 LBC uppers has a 12.5 barrel, pushing the 105gr BTHP to 2500 fps over Lever in Lapua brass. It performs very well at 600-700 yards but I havent taken it further than that yet. Hope to next summer.
Of course keep in mind that in short barrels heavy bullets do better than light bullets, considering velocity differences with longer barrels.
