The military uses ammunition up to several decades old. If they go with polymer, they won't have that option, or it will be problematic.
I saw how well the the earlier polymer bullets (non-telescoping) did in the 2014 and 2015...too brittle and they were breaking during firing. These apparently are more flexible, hence my concern for longer term deformation. Just how far out of round or less than straight can these cartridges be and still cycle properly?
