Stonehenge, I understand your position as stated and haven't commented on it one way or another.
My first comment you quoted wasn't directed at you. I merely stated an opinion as to a possible motive for why ATF may have pulled the rug out from Q LLC's product. I've seen them do something like that before as I described. I probably should have used the term procedurally deceptive or criminal, instead of political. But I have no doubt there are political hacks in their organization too. I know political debate here is not allowed. Far as I know, the words politics or political are not disallowed. Perhaps I'm wrong on that impression, that's for the mods to decide.
Frankly, I understand your hesitance based on past behaviors of the ATF. I have no issue with your personal choice. I considered not building a pistol for the very same reason.
I think the SBA/ATF letters were meant to clarify the intent and spirit of the law and that's what I chose to follow.
