I think the point I've been trying to make and probably haven't been doing a good job of is that the ATF is a Law Enforcement Agency responsible for enforcing laws on the books, one of which is the Firearms Controls Act.

How they interpret it is different than how a court may interpret it. And if a politician says "how are you allowing that? - the Dayton shooter used a pistol brace and shouldered it" we know what's next.

LRRPF52, all the arguments you have laid out about the benefits of braces in general are ones that they can make in court. Hopefully they do and it goes all the way to the Supreme Court and addresses the regulation of SBRs. All the arguments you have made about yourself are ones that you hopefully never have to pay a lawyer to make for you in court. That was really the risk I didn't want to take - especially if I had an anti-gun prosecutor/ judge / jury.

It’s kind of hard to even start an argument in that direction when there’s an NFA item on the end of my muzzle.

For the way I shoot long guns, they would have to create a new class of firearms if they’re going to start regulating based on method of use.

That new class would be “chest-fired weapons”. If you look at where I index the toe of the butt on a rifle, it’s medial from my nipple even. We’re talking about 6-7” away from the deltoid.

In my State, you can’t even go to the range anymore without running into multiple people with suppressors.

Thousands of people have pistols with stabilizing braces, and those types of AR15s and other pistol designs are on the shelves of major sporting goods stores. At least they were before the buying frenzy.
