Without doing some measuring, I still think you will have ignition issues if you were to go with the 17WSM. The rims are a lot harder than other rim fires. Look at the pressures compared to others even the 5mm mentioned is not as hard.
With the hardness, and as far out of line as I think it will be from firing pin, you may well end up with an expensive tent stake.
I'm not certain that it won't work. The pressures of the 5mm are SAAMI spec's at 46K maximum. The Aguila ammo develops 33K nominal pressure. I'm pretty sure the WSM is about the same.~Riuma
