Norma and Lapua made brass for the 22 PPC and I think the case taper and case overall length might be different than necking down a 6.5 Grendel case to accept the .224 bullets. I think the cheaper Starline and other brands of 6.5 Grendel brass is the appeal of the 22 Grendel. I dont know if the 22 PPC has been used much in the AR-15 as I thought the 22 PPC was in bolt guns. According to what I read the 22 PPC was developed in the mid 70s and used by bench rest shooters.
A Friend just started shooting a 224 Grendel and I need to talk to him to see how his is shooting. I never had any interest in the 224 Valkyrie but the 224 Grendel performance and the commonality to the 6.5 Grendel appeals to me. I just havent had the time the last two years to shoot and reload. No time to take on new projects like 6 MM ARC or 22 Grendel.
